Abstract
One of the central administrative and legal principles of the Office of State Protection of Ukraine is countering terrorism, which is carried out following the rule of law principles, protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, based on the current legal status of the Office.
In our opinion, the existing research should be generalized and supplemented based on elaborating the principles of counteraction to terrorism, which is integrated into the administrative and legal principles of functioning of the Department of State Protection of Ukraine.
One of the state's leading functions is to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, individuals and legal entities from unlawful encroachments, ensuring the principle of legality, as well as the protection of law and order established in the state. Each of these tasks is performed with the help of the law enforcement function of the OSP of Ukraine.
The article deals with the problems of the organizational and legal principles of the Department of State Protection of Ukraine's functioning at the present stage. First, we revealed the main directions of activity of the Office and characterized the legal status by taking into account the necessity of counteracting terrorism. Finally, we singled out the fundamental principles of counteraction to terrorism and the functioning of the Office in the context of the Anti-terrorist operation.
Given the study, we consider it appropriate to emphasize that strengthening the National Security of Ukraine requires expanding the field of research in the field of functioning of the Department of State Protection of Ukraine. Therefore, at the present stage, it is essential to summarize the existing developments in this area and detail the primary trend that determines the future development of the Office - strengthening the role in countering terrorist threats.
The prospect of further research is the development of administrative and legal mechanisms to combat terrorism by the Department of State Protection of Ukraine.
