The article examines the protection of individual rights in the aspect of the digitalization of criminal proceedings. We support the proposals made in the literature to improve the national model of detection and detection of criminal offences, create a digital platform for cooperation between the subjects of criminal proceedings, and so on. In the article, we single out other areas of improving the national model of pre-trial investigation to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of the individual in the context of digitalization of criminal proceedings. First, the use of the Safe City system in the interests of criminal proceedings and to protect the rights of its participants: the installation of cameras for general surveillance; installation of controlled (robotic) cameras that allow the System operator to direct the camera to a particular part of the image; installation of panoramic (survey) controlled cameras; installation of analytical cameras (200 LPR) with advanced analytical functions: determining the colour and brand of the car, counting the number of vehicles, etc. Secondly, the extensive use of photos and videos with the removal from the list of participants in criminal proceedings of such subjects as witnesses. High informativeness of the video provides an opportunity to reproduce further the picture of the entire investigative action (provided the continuity of the recording) and its individual elements to verify the legality and admissibility of actions of persons involved in it as assess the reliability of the results. The indisputable advantage of video recording over other means of recording the course of investigative (search) actions is the possibility of simultaneous recording of both visual and audio information, which allows displaying the course of investigative action in full, for further analysis as a whole and individual, most important points - the legality of procedural actions, the behaviour of participants in procedural actions, etc. Third, the use of computer systems for procedural decisions. In the article, we give examples of the use of artificial intelligence in the interests of criminal proceedings.
