Abstract

Modern tourism enterprises function as complex open systems, which in their development are subject to the general trends of entrepreneurship, but also have characteristic features arising from the specifics of the field of activity. Unlike industrial enterprises, where the dominance of a scientific approach to management is axiomatic, there are ample opportunities for testing different leadership styles and personnel management methods at enterprises in the tourism industry. Sometimes, in search of the best management models, inspired by the best Western practices, leaders overlook the threats associated with the introduction of a leadership style that is not characteristic of a certain team. Contradictions arising in the environment of the enterprise against the background of inconsistency of organizational culture and leadership style result in a conflict of authority and opportunistic behavior of personnel.

The article examines the grounds and features of the conflict of powers in the personnel management of tourist enterprises, caused by the dialectical nature of the organizational culture and leadership style. One of the varieties of the conflict of powers is characterized - hidden management by the manager. The content, prerequisites and methods of implementation of hidden management have been studied. Leadership styles were analyzed and their importance in the formation of prerequisites for the emergence of covert management was determined. Using the toolkit of transactional analysis, a multifaceted analysis of hidden transactions arising in the process of an employee's attempt to carry out hidden management was performed, and thanks to the development of a generalized model of hidden management, the employee's motives for implementing hidden management and the dynamic influence of the manager's leadership style on them were revealed.
