The relevance of further clarification of the essence of various concepts used in information law is beyond doubt, because their adequate understanding contributes to the harmonization of information relations, normalizes information activities and ensures its proper legal regulation, creates the basis for the formation of high-quality information legislation, regulates constantly arising technical and technological situations in the regulatory field and the like. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn and interpretations of such terms were proposed: 1) information space is a part of the information sphere, limited by the material and non-material territory of distribution, the center of which is a set of subjects carrying out information activities, and its components are information and information relations, information science and information culture, information activities and information infrastructure, information law and information legislation; 2) the information sphere is a part of the noosphere, which is characterized by information belonging and a plurality of internal nature, determines its autonomy among other spheres of society, but ensures their constant interconnection in the implementation of its functional essence, 3) the information environment is a part of the information space, characterized by a minimum territory distribution and a limited number of subjects of information activities, and is also conditioned by a kind of information microclimate, including a set of methods, techniques, activities and conditions for the direct implementation of information activities.
